Project and Virtual School “MONTEVIDEO +10 UNDER THE LÉSBIQA LIGHT”.”

The “Montevideo+10 Bajo La Lupa LÉSBIQA” Project seeks to amplify the transformative power of the Network through coordinated actions with the new organizations that are part of LESLAC to incorporate the LésBiQa perspective and overcome the deficits of representation and participation of LBQ women in spaces of dispute/negotiation of multilevel agendas. This project was presented, managed and administered by Corporación Femm of Colombia.

The main activity is the Virtual Advocacy School “Montevideo+10 Under the LÉSBIQA Magnifying Glass” with the aim of installing and/or strengthening the capacities of the CSOs associated with the LESLAC Network to monitor the implementation and impact of the resolutions emanating from the Regional Conferences on Population and Development, and to participate efficiently in them, with emphasis on the follow-up of the main instrument, the Montevideo Consensus.

All virtual sessions of the School are available on the Femm Corporation's YouTube channel.

Session 1: Presentation School and introduction to some scenarios for policy advocacy
Session 2: Deepening of multilevel agendas and possibilities for advocacy from the organizations.
Session 3: Background and Overview of the Montevideo Consensus
Session 4: Tools for monitoring and following up on the Montevideo Consensus
Session 5: Shadow or alternative reports and spaces for review of the Montevideo Consensus in its first 10 years.
Session 6: Presentation of your individual writings, essays and mappings, and selection of the participant who will represent LESLAC at the event in Cochabamba (Bolivia) from November 11 to 17, 2023.

As a result of this School, of the shadow reports built and presented by the participants, and of the execution of the project, the following is consolidated: a regional report on progress in the implementation of the Montevideo Consensus in five countries in which LESLAC Network member organizations are represented (Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Mexico). A regional mapping on the implementation of the Montevideo Consensus in 15 countries in the region, in which LESLAC Network member organizations are represented.
